LOCATION AND CLIMATE:
Cavtat (Croatia, South Dalmatia) is located 19 km south from Dubrovnik and 3 km far from the coastal road. It is cultural center of Konavle which is the southest region in Croatia. It is well connected with other Croatian towns through Dubrovnik and Airport Cilipi. It is connected with its surroundings by bus and ship lines.
Cavtat is also a port closed with two peninsulas Tiha Bay and Sustjepan.
Cavtat has Mediterranean climate with hot and dry summers and mild winters. It has Mediterranean vegetation. It has many beautiful beaches.
HISTORY:
Originally
Cavtat was Greek settlement called Epidaurus. After 228 BC it became Roman colony. Inhabitants started to move and in the base of hill Srd they founded settlement Ragusa, today`s Dubrovnik. In 1426. Dubrovnik Republic bought
Cavtat and it became second center of Dubrovnik Republic.

Main cultural event is Cavtat Summer. It starts in July and ends in August. During Cavtat Summer there are concerts and waterpolo tournament kept. Other Cavtat famous events are The Day of Our Lady on 5th of August and Carnival Festival in January and February.
